Juliane Gallant - Piano

Pianist Juliane Gallant is currently completing her Masters of Music in Piano Performance at the University of Ottawa, where she studies with David Jalbert. She is also a graduate from l'Université de Moncton, taking lessons from Richard Boulanger, Julien LeBlanc and Roger Lord.

Juliane's primary interest is vocal accompaniment. She played recitals, festivals and exams with multiple vocalists and participated in numerous international collaborative piano masterclasses, such as the Nice Summer Music Academy, where she studied with Dalton Baldwin. She has served as répétiteur and pianist in Britten's The Turn of the Screw (2007) and harpsichordist for Mozart's Cosi fan Tutte (2008) at the Université de Moncton Opera Workshop. More recently, she played the role of répétiteur and concert pianist for Carmen (2009) and harpsichordist in Le Nozze di Figaro (2010) at the University of Ottawa. Juliane also appeared in recital with many choirs in New Brunswick and Ontario, such as Les Jeunes chanteurs d'Acadie, le Choeur Beauséjour, la Chorale du département de musique de l'Université de Moncton, Voce dell'Anima and the Capital Chamber Choir.

Juliane began teaching piano at the Metro Moncton School of Music in 2004. During her four years at the school, her students have participated in the Moncton Music Festival and have successfully passed examinations with the preparatory schools of the University of Mount Allison and l'Université de Moncton. Since moving to Ottawa, Juliane has begun teaching dictation at the University of Ottawa, as well as piano at l'École de musique Adagio.
