It started as just one small teaching studio in the back of a music store called La Guitare situated on Church st. in Moncton. There was only one teacher back then, Regina Cote who still works with us today.
Since then, The Metro Moncton School of Music has taught music lessons to thousands of students. Our music classes are offered at our school located at 388 St. George street in Moncton NB.
Our qualified music teachers have experience teaching children and adults. The lessons are all conducted in our individual teaching rooms. Parents are welcome to sit in on the lessons or observe the classes through our glass doors.
What is the best age to start taking music lessons?
The earliest we recommend starting music lessons for children is 5 years old. Students younger than 5 can have difficulty reaching the distance between keys or frets because of hand size. Adults can get started at any age. We have had several beginner students in their 70’s and even a few in their 80’s!
